The Denver Broncos, like every other team in the NFL, uses the preseason for many important reasons. It’s critical to have some great competition to really test your team against. The third preseason game is by far the most critical. It’s the game that teams will play their starters the most, usually anywhere from a full half to three quarters. Of the four preseason opponents for the Broncos, the San Francisco 49ers are by far the best team (at least from 2011) and having them as their third preseason game opponent is an outstanding opportunity.
