They say all good things come to those who wait, but it took 37 long years for Brad Sauve to appreciate the full meaning of that maxim. The Green Bay Packers fan put his name on the waiting list for season tickets in 1976, but didn’t hear his name called until earlier this week. “Got a letter from the Packers today,” Sauve proudly tweeted on Feb. 9 . “I am now a season ticket holder. Section 128 Row 41.” Sauve’s good news came with an invoice. He’ll have to pay a one-time fee of $4,200 for the right to purchase the tickets, plus $2,380 per season for two tickets to seven games. (Season ticket holders from the Packers days in Milwaukee’s County Stadium own ticket rights to the other three games on the 10-game home schedule.) Despite the steep price to sit in the corner of the end zone, Sauve didn’t balk at the cost. Packers tickets are a closely guarded family treasure in Wisconsin and the list currently numbers 105,000.
