Indianapolis Colts fans are apparently a pretty silly bunch, considering how down in the dumps we’ve been for the past year. First, Peyton Manning succumbed to a series of neck surgeries, then the team tanked the 2011 season and, finally, Manning was released by owner Jim Irsay after 14 storybook seasons that made just about every Hoosier a Colt fan. It sure seemed like the Colts were a franchise in a tailspin, but it looks like the subsequent selection of Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck as the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft may have carried more weight than we thought. …
