Elway Questions Need For Military-Style Rifles

DENVER (AP) – John Elway says he doesn’t see why a civilian would need a military-style rifle like the ones used in recent mass shootings, but he wants to hear more about the issue. The two-time Super Bowl winner, Hall of Famer and current Broncos executive spoke briefly about gun control in a wide-ranging interview on “Piers Morgan Tonight” on CNN, where guns have been a frequent topic. Elway said he’s a gun owner and hunter and respects the Second Amendment. When asked by Morgan about military-style rifles, he said he was waiting to hear more about that part of the gun control debate. Elway said “if that’s the solution that can prevent some of these catastrophes going on at these grade schools, then I’m all for the solution.” (© Copyright 2013 The Associated Press.
