Robert Griffin, Rob Gronkowksi headline Week 15′s injury roundup (Shutdown Corner)

Washington Redskins first round quarterback Robert Griffin was “full participant” in Friday’s practice and is listed as “questionable” on the team’s final injury report of the week. Griffin has a “mild” sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee and a decision on whether or not he starts against the Cleveland Browns will be determined this weekend, but one factor that could impact that decision is a report from Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com that Griffin has partaken in individual drills only . If Griffin is unable to play, fourth round pick Kirk Cousins would make his first NFL start. In addition to Griffin, left tackle Trent Williams (thigh) and inside linebacker London Fletcher (ankle) were also listed as “questionable”. The Browns have a relatively clean injury report, practicing with all 53 players on Friday and listing nine players, including first round running back Trent Richardson (chest, rib, finger) , left tackle Joe Thomas and right guard Shawn Lauvao (foot). Green Bay Packers safety Charles Woodson (collarbone) had already been ruled out and Friday he was joined by wide receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring), running back James Starks (knee) and defensive end C.J. Wilson (knee). Guard T.J. Lang was listed is questionable due to a hip injury that could keep him out of a second consecutive game. The Chicago Bears have ruled out wide receiver Earl Bennett (concussion), middle linebacker Brian Urlacher (hamstring) and Tim Jennings (shoulder), with first round defensive end Shea McClellin (knee) and defensive tackle Henry Melton (chest) listed as “doubtful”. Quarterback Jay Cutler (knee/neck) practiced fully on Friday and is expected to start against the Packers. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski returned to practice on Friday and is “questionable” with forearm and hip injuries. In total, nineteen Patriots are “questionable”, including wide receivers Wes Welker (ankle) and Brandon Lloyd (knee), tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle), starting offensive linemen Dan Connolly (back), Logan Mankins (ankle/calf) and Sebastian Vollmer (back/knee), defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle), linebackers Dont’a Hightower (hamstring) and Brandon Spikes (knee/ankle), cornerbacks Kyle Arrington (ankle), Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring) and Aqib Talib (hip) and safety Patrick Chung (shoulder/hamstring). All have a “50-50″ chance of playing against the San Francisco 49ers, who listed wide receiver Mario Manningham as “doubtful” with a shoulder injury that kept him out of last Sunday’s 27-13 win over the Dolphins. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is “questionable” with a fractured left index finger that would have ended his season had the team not been in the hunt for the playoffs . “The position that we are in, that makes me want to be out there,” Bryant said via ESPN Dallas. “If there was anything less than what we got a chance of, I would have went ahead and got surgery.” The Cowboys ruled nose tackle Jay Ratliff (groin) out for the Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with guard Nate Livings (concussion), outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (elbow) and cornerback Morris Claiborne (concussion) are “questionable”. For the Steelers, cornerback Ike Taylor (ankle) has been ruled out, as has guard Willie Colon (knee) and second round right tackle Mike Adams (ankle). Cornerback Cortez Allen, who has played in over 50 percent of the Steelers’ snaps on both defense and special teams, is “doubtful” with a groin injury. The New York Giants will be without running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who was unable to practice this week due to knee and foot injuries. With Bradshaw out, the Giants will lean on first round pick David Wilson, who had 13 carries for 100 yards and two touchdowns in last Sunday’s win over the New Orleans Saints. The Giants also ruled safety Kenny Phillips (knee) and starting cornerback Price Amukamara (hamstring) out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, who listed wide receiver Roddy White (knee), safety William Moore (hamstring) and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (ribs) as “questionable”. Cornerback Asante Samuel is “probable” with a shoulder injury that has limited him to three snaps over the last two games.
