(Reuters) – The National Football League (NFL) fined Denver Broncos head coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio a combined $55,000 on Monday for verbally abusing replacement officials last week. Fox was fined $30,000 and Del Rio $25,000 for abusing game officials during last Monday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, which included lengthy delays and needed more than an hour to play the first quarter. “There is a longstanding NFL rule prohibiting verbal or physical abuse of game officials,” NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson said in a statement. …

NEW YORK (AP) — New England coach Bill Belichick was confused about a decisive field goal he thought was off-target. Detroit’s Jim Schwartz couldn’t understand a 27-yard penalty walk-off for unnecessary roughness. Philadelphia’s Andy Reid felt ignored while trying to decline a penalty.

Schaub goes through normal work day after ear rip (The Associated Press)

HOUSTON (AP) — Texans coach Gary Kubiak said quarterback Matt Schaub was back at work and looked ”fine” the day after losing a bit of his left ear lobe in a win in Denver.

2012 NFL Week 4 TV Schedule (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

Week 4 of the 2012 NFL season will feature several marquee matchups. Some of the big matchups this week include the San Francisco 49ers visiting the New York Jets, the New York Giants visiting the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Chicago Bears going to Cowboys Stadium to play the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. The Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers are the teams on bye this week.

AFC West Spin cycle: Week Three (Pro Football Weekly)

The winds changed drastically in the AFC West in Week Three, proving that this division is extremely hard to figure and could be another exciting battle at the end of the season. The Chiefs and Raiders both got dramatic, last-second upset wins, which also happened to be their first victories of the season, respectively. On the other side of the coin, the Broncos lost their second game in a row, digging too big of a hole against a talented Texans squad and the Chargers, who looked like the class of the division through two weeks, fell flat in a 27-3 whipping at the hands of the Falcons.

Biggest Weakness Right Now for the Denver Broncos is at Linebacker: Fan’s Take (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

During the offseason, many Denver Broncos fans argued back and forth as to which area of the defense was the weakest. Was it the secondary, or was it the defensive line? Broncos management clearly agreed as they worked to shore up both of those areas during the spring and summer. However, there was one group that clearly didn’t get enough attention in the offseason and that’s the linebackers.
