On Sunday, September 9, Will Allen and the Pittsburgh Steelers will open their season in Denver against Peyton Manning and the Broncos. I caught up with Allen recently, and here is what he had to say about the Steelers’ defense, his charity work, and former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel.

Tim Tebow can’t help but be a major news story no matter what he does or where he goes. When he came to the New York Jets from the Denver Broncos in an offseason trade, New York newspapers had a field day. Attention on Tebow has been extensive since that trade, but he was a virtual non-factor in the Jets’ Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills. Based on what I’ve seen so far, it looks like the only person who is going to really be negatively affected by his trade is Tebow himself.

Peyton Manning, you’re not in Indianapolis anymore. For a quarterback who is accustomed to his home crowd quieting down when he is running the offense, he might be in for a bit of an adjustment of his own on Sunday night. When the Pittsburgh Steelers come to town to face off against his Denver Broncos, the fans are never going to go as quiet as those Colts fans did for him for all those seasons.
