DENVER (AP) – Olympic gold medal swimmer Missy Franklin will serve as an honorary captain and will be at midfield for the coin toss before the Denver Broncos play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Franklin, who is from Centennial, is among a dozen Olympic athletes from Colorado who will be honored during the opener. Franklin won four gold medals and a bronze during the London Games last month. Among the other Olympians who will be honored is Taylor Ritzel, a gold medalist rower whose grandfather is former Broncos coach Red Miller. (© Copyright 2012 The Associated Press.
