ENGLEWOOD — Monday was a day when people heard “athlete” and “long snapper” in the same sentence. It was a day when people learned there actually is more to long snapping than snapping the ball a fairly long way.

Peyton Manning Did Not ‘Shred’ San Francisco 49ers’ Defense: Fan Reaction (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

During my daily morning browsing of sports on the internet, I came across an article on Yahoo! written by Doug Farrar, editor of Shutdown Corner. And in the article, Farrar stated that Peyton Manning “shredded” the 49ers’ defense in their preseason game on August 26. While that may be accurate in terms of what the stats show, it does not by any stretch mean the 49ers defense could not have stopped the Broncos’ offense.

Appeals court backs ruling on D.J. Williams suit (The Associated Press)

DENVER (AP) — A federal appeals court is upholding the dismissal of a lawsuit Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams had filed in an attempt to overturn a six-game drug suspension by the NFL.
