Elway’s 1st draft making noise

ENGLEWOOD — In the pages of Broncos history, they will always be John Elway’s first draft class. Those nine players, topped by star linebacker Von Miller, were the Broncos’ first selections in the annual talent grab made with the most heralded Bronco calling the football shots.

Bears LB Urlacher says he’ll be ready for season opener (The SportsXchange)

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher returned to the team Saturday after taking time off for knee soreness and personal reasons and declared on Sunday he will be ready for the season opener.

Moreno, Garland, and Stokley Can Be Important Role Players for This 2012 Denver Broncos Team: Fan’s Take (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

There are three games left in the Denver Broncos preseason schedule and precious little time for certain member of the roster to make a big enough impression on the coaching staff to be kept around for the regular season. The roster needs to be trimmed to 80 player by August 28, but then another (more severe) cut happens on September 2 when the roster is pared down to its final 53 players. Of all the non-starters who are out there competing for playing time and a spot on the team, these three guys need to make that final cut when the Broncos play the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 9.

Carolina Panthers 2012 NFL TV Schedule (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

The Carolina Panthers finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 6-10. They held a record of 3-5 at home playing their games at Bank of America Stadium and went 3-5 on the road. The Panthers ranked 7th in total offense and 28th in total defense in 2011.
