New York (CBS4) – Just like his time in Colorado, Tim Tebow is causing a stir in the big apple. Tebow’s every move is being watched and dissected during his first training camp with the New York Jets. Fans love him, but many football experts are still not sold on Tebow’s quarterbacking abilities. That includes former Jets QB Boomer Esiason. On his morning radio show Monday, Esiason went so far as to suggest the Jets cut Tebow. “I’m just telling you right now, I would (cut him), and I’ll tell you why I would,” Esiason said. “It’s not in any way, shape or form — I think — benefiting this team.” Esiason’s issues with Tebow? First, he doesn’t believe the former Bronco can throw the football well enough to win in the NFL. Secondly, Esiason thinks the circus-like atmosphere that is surrounding the backup quarterback is hurting the Jets’ preparations for the season. “I just think this whole thing — at least from my perspective right now in relation to who Mark Sanchez is, your starting quarterback — is a major mistake,” Esiason said.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – Peyton Manning looks great. Ditto Champ Bailey and Elvis Dumervil. In a training camp marked by precision and predictability and devoid of any real drama so far, one move has stood out for the Denver Broncos: the promotion of perennial backup Jason Hunter to starting strongside defensive end. It says as much about the Broncos’ appreciation for Hunter’s technique and tenacity as it does about the fall of former first-round pick Robert Ayers, who’s also watching rookie Derek Wolfe work ahead of him at tackle. LINK: View The Broncos Complete Depth Chart Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio loves Hunter’s “temperament, toughness, attitude,” and says he’s going to play the guys who are the most dependable, toughest, and the most physical up front “and he’s being all that right now for us.” (© Copyright 2012 The Associated Press.
