McDaniels benches star receiver for season finale (AP)

Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels says he is benching Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall for the team’s critical season finale against Kansas City. McDaniels wouldn’t directly address the reasons for his decision, although he mentioned accountability and said several other players will play Sunday with injuries worse than Marshall’s.

Brandon Marshall Deactived For Sunday’s Game

Brandon Marshall won’t play in the Broncos game on Sunday against the Chiefs, CBS4’s Gary Miller reports. Coach Josh McDaniels says Marshall doesn’t want to play despite what he terms having slight injury and he has been deactivated. Miller spoke with Marshall, who insisted the only reason he’s not playing is because of his strained hamstring.
